O’Charley’s Ooey Gooey Caramel Pie

O’Charley’s Oooey Gooey Caramel Pie Ingredients

2 cans sweetened condensed milk

Graham cracker crust

1 tub of cool whip

Mini chocolate chips

Chopped pecans for garnish

Directions

Remove outside wrapper from milk cans. Place cans of sweetened condensed milk into a large stockpot. Cover completely with water and boil on high for 3 hours. You will have to continue replenishing your water about every 30 minutes throughout the 3 hours, or it all will evaporate. After the sweetened milk has finished boiling remove stockpot from heat and cool until cans are no longer hot to the touch. Remove cans from the water. Open cans, pouring contents into the graham cracker crust. Spread the contents of the can evenly over the pie crust. Allow pie to sit out and set up about 1 hour. Place pie in refrigerator overnight to continue setting up. Before serving spread with cool whip cool and garnish with mini chocolate chips and chopped pecans if desired. When boiled this sweetened condensed milk “Caramelizes: creating the only ingredient needed for the pie, which is the caramel.      Enjoy!     By- Abigail Evans
